Decorating the inner bounds of the City of Westminster, central London, the St George’s, Hanover Square church is one of the most important religious structures affiliated with the Church of England in the country. Designed and built by the architect John James between the years 1721 and 1725, it is considered one of the “Queen Anne’s Churches”, a group of twelve that were erected under the Commission for Building Fifty New Churches. Listed as a Grade I structure in the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, it was commonly known as a place for high-class weddings.
