  • Happen to be exploring the inner bounds of the small town of Lucerne in Switzerland? Good, because there is a massive collection of locomotives, ships, automobiles and aircraft that you absolutely have to check out. Also known as Verkehrshaus der Schweiz, the Swiss Museum of Transport was opened in the year 1959 to exhibit those very things. Besides its juggernaut-assortment of attractions, you should also check out its Planetarium, IMAX theatre (called the Verkehrshaus Filmtheater) and an enormous-yet-still-scaled-down photograph of Switzerland called the Swiss Arena. Sitting on the shore of Lake Lucerne and within a 30-minute walking distance from the city centre, it really should not be an unexploited experience.
