  • Are you ready to explore the hardship and the challenges that the Medieval Scandinavians had to face? Based in the proud capital of Sweden, the Museum of Medieval Stockholm is something that should not be left out by any history buff. Built around ancient excavated monuments, it sits just north of the Royal Palace. Old brick houses, booths, a harbour, and even gallows make their appearance as the 1250-1520 period shines through. Oh, and one interesting fact: on the 800th birthday of the renowned Birger Jarl (the founder of Stockholm), the museum opened a distinct exhibition that aimed to reconstruct his face. And be sure to check out the Riddarholmsskeppet also, if you have the time – might need a phonetic dictionary to pronounce that (wink)!
