  • Decorating the outskirts of the Saudi Arabian city of Mecca and built at the orders of Caliph Abu Ja’far al-Mansur in 761, the Bay’ah Mosque is mostly accessible to Muslim worshippers. Erected upon the site where Prophet Muhammad encountered the Ansar who took the pledge of ‘Aqaba, it is quite a sight to behold in and of itself (even if we disconsider its historical meaning). Non-Muslim tourists, however, might find it difficult to get close to it as entry into Mecca is prohibited to them.
