  • Situated proudly at the foot of the Transylvanian Călimani Mountains, on the right bank of the River Mureș in Brâncovenești (Mureș County, Romania), Kemény Castle (also known as “Kemény Kastély”, “Kemény Schloss”, or “Castelul Kemény”) is most indubitably the star-attraction of its surrounding area. Over the years, it has become an icon when it came to exemplifying exquisite Renaissance architecture in Transylvania. Owned by John Kemény, it was built upon a Roman foundation in the 13th century, when the area still belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary. Since 2014, it is open to the public, so hesitate not!
