  • Officially known as the Alexandru Borza Cluj-Napoca University Botanic Garden (Grădina Botanică Alexandru Borza a Universităţii Cluj-Napoca), the Cluj-Napoca Botanical Garden is not only an excellent place to learn about local and exotic flora but also a fabulous recreational area. Established in 1872 by centenarian Brassai Sámuel (also known as the Last Transylvanian Polymath), the garden covers an area of 14 hectares and harbours more than 10,000 specimens from all around the globe. One of its prime attractions is probably the renowned Japanese Garden, an area with a Far-Eastern style that is blended perfectly in the local natural environment.
