  • Located deep within the heart of the commune of Macea (Arad County, Romania), Macea Castle (also known as “Cernovici Castle” or “Csernovics Castle”) is one of the most important architectural sights of its parent country. Having belonged to two notable noble families, Csernovics and Károlyi, it was built between 1862 and 1886. Built in a Secession style, the edifice exhibits quite a few standards upon its surface. These would include Byzantine, Gothic, late Baroque and even modern elements. Architecture-buffs should definitely take notes when it comes to old buildings for this one is an absolute magnum opus.
