Rakoczi Bridge – Budapest Connecting the sections Buda and Pest across the majestic Danube River, Budapest’s Rákóczi Bridge (Rákóczi híd) is the southernmost public bridge in the capital. Built according to the plans of Tibor Sigra in the year 1992, the steel girder bridge was inaugurated in 1995 and eventually named after the Rákóczi family. In spite of its current official name, it is frequently referred to as Lágymányosi híd (Lágymányosi Bridge) – which was its official name between 1995 and 2011. Boasting with a total length of 494.8 metres and a width of 30.6, it reaches into the Lágymányos and Ferencváros neighbourhoods of Budapest.
