  • Situated proudly deep within the bounds of the Hungarian city of Miskolc (the fourth largest city in the country), the Miskolc Cathedral (also known as “Nagyboldogasszony Püspöki Székesegyház” or “Assumption Cathedral”) serves as the nucleus of the Eparchy of Miskolc (Eparchia Miskolcensis or Miskolci Egyházmegye). Following the Hungarian rite (also known as the Byzantine rite), it adheres to the grandiose standards of the Neo-Gothic architectural style. Built between the years 1902 and 1912, the church was elevated to a cathedral in the year 1924.
