  • Kecskemét Cathedral

Kecskemét cannot be left out if you are on a Hungarian round-trip for it is one of the most historically-significant settlements in the country. Visiting the Kecskemét Cathedral (also known as the “Co-Cathedral of the Ascension of the Lord”, “Urunk Mennybemenetele Társszékesegyház”, or the “Great Church”), thus, becomes an absolute must, for it is the most important religious building pertaining to the Catholic Church in the city. Serving as the co-cathedral (or an alternate cathedral) of the Archdiocese of Kalocsa-Kecskemét, it was built between 1774 and 1806 and dedicated to the Ascension of Christ.
