  • Known under countless names such as Jokhang Temple, Jokang, Qoikang Monastery, Zuglagkang, and Jokhang Monastery, Jokhang is the uncontested centrepiece of the Tibetan city of Lhasa (the capital). Courtesy of Songtsen Gampo, the 33rd king of Tibet, it showcases a seamless blend between the Tibetan, Nepalese and Indian Vihara architectural styles. Considered the holiest of all places in Tibet, it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. A definite must-see!
