  • Known to the locals as the White Crane Ridge Underwater Museum, Chongqing’s Baiheliang Underwater Museum is not your everyday eye-popper. Sitting in the Three Gorges area of the Yangtze River it was opened to the public in 2009 and it became China’s first underwater museum. You can descend into the exhibition space via relay ducts that run into the establishment from the shore and bask in its glory in awe. Some inscriptions on display are as old as 1,200 years! A definite must-see!
