  • Visitors of the island of Barbados must not leave out one of its prime attractions: the Queen’s-Park-based baobab tree. Most trees of its kind are native to Madagascar, so it is quite a feat to see one so far away from its renowned homeland. Known also as an “Adansonia digitata”, it has a trunk so thick that it would need around 12-15 people with arms stretched out to encircle its circumference. Scientists claim that this very specimen is around one thousand years old and that its roots can be traced back to Guinea, Africa. Photographing this natural wonder is allowed and highly recommended, as it is most indubitably a once-in-a-lifetime sight.
